Use them I am not stopping you ..........but even now 1600 is a heap better than 400 on the m8 The tools are there but there is a heap of heads in the sand when it comes to using  the technology that Leica offers.

Now let's ponder that pointing stick"............

Please let me repeat. Myself and most others are discussing the M240 in this thread. NOT M8 versus M. Please feel free to start your own discussion on this topic. You are also welcome to the north to stick your head in the snow :)

That's exactly what I did 1600  on the 240 etc beats the 400 on the m8  ..............iso creep  That's the great part about  technology the  expanded iso range

ps some smartphone  accessory makers make tripod attachments because  high isos are weak in smartphones something that Leica  cameras doesn't suffer from these days

Did you get her mended Alf?

Carl

Yeah, see page 2:

"I'm happy to say that my M is back from Leica some days ago. I sent photos of the damage to Leica, they judged it to be repairable and so I sent to Germany where they fixed it. I had some delay with customs both ways, but Leica did the repair without to much delay. Kudos to Leica customer service for the handling.

Lets see how long the M can survive me this time."

The M has a ISO range of 100-6400. Your welcome, I'm always happy to help those that are misinformed :) .

I guess I need to be more direct in making jokes ......Yes I know I'm a little old fashion I use 200 as my sweet spot and I still keep a tripod close at hand.

So how much was your repair?......Do you know yet?
