What a beautiful, timeless cityscape! Excellent photography on many levels, and I commend Chicago (and the barber shop) for not over-cluttering the street with busy warning signage, meters, painted curbs, posters, etc. Really nice work!

Thank you, Larry. This is in the financial district, a wonderful part of town. Some streets there are like scenes from the 1940s, and the light can be very dramatic as it filters between the tall surrounding buildings. I waited quite a while there, snapping various passersbys, until this fellow stepped out for a smoke. I don't think I would have placed him differently had I been directing the scene myself. Serendipity is so much a part of street shooting, isn't it?
