Hi,

I'm heading for Paris within 5-6 weeks and would like to buy a Leica lens there, if the price is below what they are here in my country.

Will be looking for a Summilux or Summicron 35mm ASPH (used or new).

Anyone knows what the price are? And what stores that sell used Leica lenses?

I have a latest model 35mm ASPH summilux available on the buy/sell classifieds here if you're interested.

Mint condition, hardly used and fully boxed and papers. Why pay the Dealer mark up?

Reasonable offers will get it!

To the OP, it helps if you say where you live. FWIW I find prices in France for stuff like camera gear generally higher than in the UK so I wouldn't expect to find too many bargains.

There is a list of official Leica dealers on the Leica website.

I live in Norway. I will be capable of comparing prices myself if I get any Paris prices and not replies like the one from

Your used price is the same as dealer price for a new lens where I live.

Well you asked "I'm heading for Paris within 5-6 weeks and would like to buy a Leica lens there, if the price is below what they are here in my country".

If you had said where you live you would possibly get responses from others who know how the prices compare with your country and France.

Why don't you just search some dealers websites and find our yourself?....

I did, but did not find prices on the official Leica store or at the two stores I tried, so if anyone has first hand information about price for a 35mm in Paris I would appreciate it. Or pinpoint me to a website that has prices, I have only looked at two besides the Leica stores.

Hi,

As I know the Prices in Paris are list prices in €. You may get a "filter" as a +. No discount at least at the Leica Stores. You can try by Suffren (https://www.photosuffren.com/). Otherwise if you are looking for Second hand lenses my recommandation is: 1./ http://leica-france.fr/occasion-beaumarchais/occasions.html and 2./ Suffren.

If you need other help don't hesitate ti contact me.

I have only one data point to contribute, so it may not be typical.

In August 2015 we were walking along Boulevard Beaumarchais, where a number of new and used camera stores are located.  August is when a lot of the shops close for summer vacation, and none of the three Leica stores were open.  I looked into a very small, but apparently very well stocked used camera store and inquired about a 28-35-50 Tri Elmar.  The one he showed me was marked 6950 Euros, which would have been around 7664 US Dollars.  It appeared to be in good condition, perhaps in 8.5 or 9 condition, but did not include a hood.

There was of course room for negation, and the shop owner even prompted me to make him and offer.  I don't know if the price included VAT, but at that point it really didn't matter.

I just purchased one in pristine shape in Texas, including the factory hood, for 3750 US Dollars.

If you're there anyway there are a number of stores along both sides ofBoulevard Beaumarchais and it might be fun to look, but I'm not convinced that Paris is a very good place to look for camera equipment.

Hi, I think I know which shop you're mentioning which has prohibitive prices for its second hand Leica gear. The usual Photo-Suffren and Maison du Leica are more down to earth offering normal prices . I actually still have some lenses for sell at the former but no 35 mm lens.

And if you're based outside the EEC, you'll get 12% VAT back on new gear at the customs office at the CDG airport.

My 2 cents. JM

Your used price is the same as dealer price for a new lens where I live.

Wow, really?

So you can buy a new dealer 35mm Summilux in Norway for £2,650 (equivalent) or 3,550 EURO's?

Photo-Suffran 4,470 EURO's (only new, not used). Even with 12% back that's 3,934 EURO's.

Anyway, that's why I ask to make an offer.

But if those are the prices in Norway then I'd buy there!

PS. Where in Norway is this Dealer you mention? At those prices I could fly from here and still pick up a cheaper lens.
