fernando_b Posted August 1, 2006 Share #1 Posted August 1, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Yesterday I gave my woman a C-LUX1 as birthday gift. She never liked my R equipment, but was so pleased and happy for her new toy that we spent all the night in studing the instruction manual...

dotandcom Posted August 1, 2006 Share #4 Posted August 1, 2006 Fernando, I'm guessing that you had in mind a reward other than a night of reading the manual! Chris
troyfreund Posted August 1, 2006 Share #5 Posted August 1, 2006 A few years ago, I gave my folks a Leica P&S for a gift. I think they enjoyed it, but I prolly got more a thrill out of knowing that my parents were shooting Leica.
fernando_b Posted August 1, 2006 Author Share #6 Posted August 1, 2006 Carl, I hope very much she won't fall in love with the M series, my earning won't be enough... Pascal, she said me, she will be very proud of the red dot showing it to her friends! Chris, right!
cbretteville Posted August 1, 2006 Share #7 Posted August 1, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Carl,I hope very much she won't fall in love with the M series, my earning won't be enough... I understand how you feel. ;-) I also hope she uses it more than the Pentax P&S I got my wife for her birthday a few years back. She never uses it. On the other hand, there is no chance of catching Leicanitis from a Pentax.....
enboe Posted August 2, 2006 Share #8 Posted August 2, 2006 Yup, that's right. I bought an M3 for a childhood friend of 28 years who was always into photography. The friend rejected it, wanting something big & digital. So, on an impulse, I gave the M3 to another, new friend of 1 year, who was delighted. The M3 is back shooting, and I feel partially validated. People are strange! Eric
