stuny Posted September 10, 2015 Share #4 Posted September 10, 2015 Quite lovely. They are so overfed vs. in the wild (where they primarily dig up and eat scorpions), these photos suggest they were shot in a zoo.
John Basso Posted September 11, 2015 Share #5 Posted September 11, 2015 Hello Euston. Great shot of these magnificent Meerkats..I love it. John Basso.
pauledell Posted September 11, 2015 Share #6 Posted September 11, 2015 Great shots of those cute critters though I wouldn't want one as a pet. Paul

Iduna Posted September 14, 2015 Share #8 Posted September 14, 2015 Euston, excellent series of these lively fellows. It is difficult to find a good frame for these quick animals. But you managed all this perfectly and in lovely light with fine details: well done!
Louis Posted September 15, 2015 Share #9 Posted September 15, 2015 I missed this one, Robert. Great shots with wonderful IQ!... It has always hard for me to shoot these fellows, specially with manual focusing; they move so fast!
stuny Posted September 15, 2015 Share #10 Posted September 15, 2015 Louis - Check Barbara's trip notes on our site for Namibia & Botswana, and my photos from there. They are very easy to photograph where she describes in the Kalahari.
Louis Posted September 16, 2015 Share #11 Posted September 16, 2015 Thanks, Stuart. Here is one that I could catch, also with "T", but Nikkor lens! (I hope you don't mind me posting it in your thread Robert!) Welcome, dear visitor! euston Posted September 16, 2015 Author Share #12 Posted September 16, 2015 (I hope you don't mind me posting it in your thread Robert!) Not at all, Louis. Meerkats can be tricky to photograph when they’re on the move but they have the habit of standing as still as statues when on watch. As Stuart noticed, these zoo animals are well fed and plump, which probably also slows them down compared with their wild cousins.
