The favorite food of the Cardinal is sunflower seeds. This one has been proving that point in my back garden.

Oh my, you're so luck to have such a flamboyant visiter in your garden. this red is amazing. Never seen it before! Does intelligent zoom means digital zoom? Is so, this intelligent zoom feature is very good compared to normal digital zoom that usually is useless.

Thanks very much. I like the Intelligent Zoom more than digital zoom but am not totally clear on the difference. Here's one explanation I found:  "Instead of applying the same processing throughout the entire image, it extracts parts of the image having little change in brightness and parts of the image with pronounced outlines, and processes each part of the image optimally. As a result, it achieves high resolution with sharpened edges and smooth tones."

The Cardinals are year round inhabitants in this area and their song is as beautiful as their feathers. They often wake me around 4 or 5 AM in the summer when the windows are open in the bedroom and I don't mind at all. At the beginning of the summer, one flew very close to me and stayed long enough for me to get several shots (without Intelligent Zoom). Here is my favorite.

Fantastic second shot. Like it a lot.
