davadam Posted September 6, 2015 Share #1 Posted September 6, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) This one is for my fellow nerds in the crowd. When you export user profiles to an SD card, what gets saved is easily readable by a text editor (although structured kind of oddly; clearly some sort of delimiter that I need to figure out) Has anyone else tried editing these by hand and loading them back in? My goal here is threefold: 1) Easier duplication-with-slight-differences of one profile into another 2) easier creation of new profiles without having to go through all the menus - if I can see at once all of the things stored in the profile, and can edit them directly, that would be much easier to conceptualize. 3) sounds like a fun project :-)

jaapv Posted September 7, 2015 Share #2 Posted September 7, 2015 I suppose the real question would be what the camera does when attempting to upload a profile that it does not recognize or contain errors. Does it lock up at such a basic level that it needs a hard reset or will it just give an error message?
lct Posted September 7, 2015 Share #3 Posted September 7, 2015 Importing the modified profile would fail i suspect but it is easy to check.
davadam Posted September 8, 2015 Author Share #4 Posted September 8, 2015 Yeah, I figured I'd try changing a profile name and re-importing to see if it worked. I hope it wouldn't brick the camera, but you never know :-)
