Thank you for your help.
Advertisement Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 Hi goorackerelite, Take a look here 40mm summicron Rear lens mount flange source. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
ho_co Posted September 1, 2015 Share #2 Posted September 1, 2015 Sorry, can't help much: Leica is the only place that comes to mind. When I've dropped lenses, if the damage is noticeable I send them to the manufacturer for repair. Sorry about your 40mm. It's a dynamite lens. But it goes back, what, forty years? I hope parts are still available.
farnz Posted September 2, 2015 Share #3 Posted September 2, 2015 I dropped my 40mm summicron like an idiot and was wondering where I can source a rear lens mount flange for the lens? Thank you for your help. You might spend time finding a replacement flange and installing it only to find that the force of the drop that needed to damage the flange has jolted the lans elements and de-centered them, which would require specialist repair. My advice is to send the lens back to Leica who will repair it and provide a warranty for the repair. Pete.
algrove Posted September 2, 2015 Share #4 Posted September 2, 2015 Agree, just bit the bullet and send it in for a proper repair.
lct Posted September 2, 2015 Share #5 Posted September 2, 2015 Never heard of replacement flanges for Summicron 40/2 so far. Agree for a repair but i would make sure that it doesn't cost more than $500 as both Summicron and Rokkor 40/2 can be had for less on the s/h market.
