Leica 12524 hood compatibility with 35/2 v1

Does anyone have experience with using the 35/2 8 elements with the Leica 12524 square hood? Its intended to be used with the 35 v4 so I'm assuming it shouldn't vignette but just thought I'd ask first just in case. The original metal hood for the 35/2 v1 is much bigger in circumference than the 12524.

I have used hood 12524 or 12526 on Summicron 35mm include the "8 element".

No vignetting at all if good orientation, but V1/2/3 do not have the "V groove" to keep those hoods parallel, I need to be carefull before taking picture.

I have also put around the lens front sort of rubber band, if the hood is loose-fix.

The best hood for those first Summicron 35mm is definitely 12504 with benefit of using serie VII filters inside, and usable also on Summilux-M 35mm.

+1 about 12524 and 12526 hoods that will tend to rotate on your lens and are not made for it.

The Summicron 35/2 v1 (11308 - SAWOM) uses E39 filters and the 12571 (IROOA) hood normally. The 12504 hood can fit but it is not as efficient as a shade. I would try the 12585 hood instead but i don't recall if it causes vignetting on this lens.

Thanks for the replies guys. I might give the 12524 a go see if the orientation will become an issue or not, I just prefer its look and size over the irooa.

On Summicron 35 I. version, the 12524 displaces very easily and must always be aligned straight before taking a picture.
More effective than an openwork 12504 should be a round closed IROOA / 12571.
