How to upload images: Prepare the image as follows: 1.   The image should be sRGB and 8-bits 2.   Reduce the size to 2480 pixels on the longest side. (smaller sizes can be set, but are not recommended) 3.   Sharpen properly for screen. 4.   Save as JPG to your desktop, reducing JPG quality to produce 2000 kB (5000 kB for sponsoring members). 5.   In Lightroom these parameters should be set in the Export dialog. 6.   In the Forum posting or editing box, click “c

Wonderful. I've been to Kyoto close to 10 times, but have yet to encounter that kind of snow.

Very nice. I've been to Kyoto twice. Always work related. Never in the winter. 

My luck is going to change. I'm going to get there.

S2 S70 in Macau

Normally does not snow enough to accumulate but this year has been a lot of snow and this time it snowed for a few days.  It is also very rare to have blue skies with snow and the Golden Temple so I was very lucky!

Did you get to photograph the Phoenix Hall in Uji in snow before its restoration? I don't think I've seen many photos of that--I suppose its iconic view doesn't involve snow. I was a little surprised by the restoration to new appearance, which seems an aberration from the normal Japanese practice.
