Joakim Posted July 20, 2016 Share #21 Posted July 20, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have the same issue but haven't been able to establish a pattern yet, I will definitely try with the GPS off and see if it helps. Thanks for the tip!
Advertisement Posted July 20, 2016 Posted July 20, 2016 Hi Joakim, Take a look here Press shutter release nothing happens. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
xiaubauu2009 Posted July 21, 2016 Share #22 Posted July 21, 2016 I also encounter problem with the S007 shutter. It will fire the shutter the minute I rub my finger on the button. I have to take out the battery to turn it back to normal
jip Posted July 21, 2016 Share #23 Posted July 21, 2016 I was in Norway the past two weeks and had the problem OVER and OVER. Leica should really release a firmware hotfix to fix this issue.
Guest NEIL-D-WILLIAMS Posted July 21, 2016 Share #24 Posted July 21, 2016 My new 007 worked flawlessly on my last trip. There were s few ovations when the shutter wouldn't fire but that was because there was a picture still on the LCD for viewing. Once the picture was removed all worked normal again
peterv Posted July 21, 2016 Share #25 Posted July 21, 2016 I've had this issue on my S2-P for three years now with the camera in AF and focus/recompose. It helps to quickly focus on something else and try again. My impression is that the problem occurs when my finger slightly loosens up while recomposing, after wich the camera thinks it hasn't archieved focus and blocks the release. For me, it's just one of the quirks I have to live with and luckily, my photography does not need exact timing.
menos I M6 Posted July 25, 2016 Share #26 Posted July 25, 2016 The last time I had my S2 in Wetzlar for a complete checkup, I talked with the tech about this issue. It neither could be replicated nor could anything about the camera body be found out of spec. I still remember this very same issue happening back with Leica M9 bodies and MM bodies (both models I have used and also experienced this issue). It happens very, very rarely with the S2 (I cannot remember when it happened the last time with mine but it was some long time before the last service). When it happens (when anything weird happens with a digital Leica ), I am conditioned to simply: - switch camera OFF - drop battery - reinsert battery - switch camera ON - re-check camera settings - continue shooting With the S2 I like to do the lens reset in a similar fashion if something acts up too (just unmount / remount the lens). I never had any camera stuck after such a battery drop neither my own S2 when this happened nor loaners.

ynp Posted July 26, 2016 Share #28 Posted July 26, 2016 See this post: http://www.l-camera-forum.com/topic/260344-delay-in-shutter-release-in-the-high-north/?p=3046890 I think the problem has been pin-pointed, but not solved, would probably require a FW update for S2/S006 Thank you for the link. If you are talking about the GPS problem, than the S2 has none, at least the last time I looked at my S2 , it had nothing of that kind inside or outside, no GPS nor Glonass. Not very often, several times this year, my S2 did not fire up and I cannot see any pattern. It just happens. I remove the battery and replace it. It has been a problem for years. A bit annoying, to be honest. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

I never experienced this problem om the S2, but frequently on the S006, and I live in Norway, so the explanation was plausible to be, but it is hard to isolate the problem.
