earleygallery Posted July 13, 2015 Share #22 Posted July 13, 2015 It's possible but then wouldn't they say 'assembled in Japan' ? Leica do enjoy creating their mysteries don't they!

Msohio Posted July 23, 2015 Share #25 Posted July 23, 2015 I have always used filters as additional security for my lenses. But I do not use UV as it does alter the IQ a bit. I am strickly a Clear Filter guy having shot identical images on a tripod with UV and clear. The clear is no different than no filter, and the UV is a tad off no filter. Not much but a little. As for flare, I also use a hood all the time and have experimented to create flare with no filter, and it is no worse with the filter on. I have never had a test circumstance where, with the hood on I get flare with the filter on and no flare with the filter off. Just my experience, not some super technical testing. And mostly done on Nikon DSLR's which would not effect the outcome of either the filter or flare situation.
w2010no Posted July 25, 2015 Share #26 Posted July 25, 2015 I Purchased Pnasonic battries in ebay. They are same as Leica and better than those third party produced.

I was getting filter flare under certain conditions when using a Leica filter but then I tried a Hoya pro MC filter and it is much better. If I was on a assignment where I may be shooting into the sun a lot I would take the filter off but for normal use I leave it on
