jaques Posted June 26, 2015 Share #1  Posted June 26, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) does anyone have a M240 red dot and a set of callipers lying around? I need to know the diameter (12mm?) and the thickness.  There could be a custom black dot in it for the first (accurate) responder...

jaques Posted July 5, 2015 Author Share #2 Â Posted July 5, 2015 This is the Leica forum- where the most obsessive and knowlegable Leica buffs in the world congregate en-masse- to discuss every aspect of Leica in minutia down to the very screen protector... and no one knows how thick the red Dot on an M240 is?? Not even a ball park guesstimate? An Inch? More? Less? I think- less? Â Or: Is it impossible to determine the thickness? Â And if so: why? Â call me curious
Sam Posted July 5, 2015 Share #3 Â Posted July 5, 2015 My M240 measures 12mm diameter. I've never removed the red dot insert so I can't tell you its thickness, but the hole is 12mm on my Mitutoyo micrometer. Â [EDIT] it comes out pretty easily and measures .2mm. jaques Posted July 7, 2015 Author Share #10 Â Posted July 7, 2015 anyone know where I can source 0.2mm black anodised sheets of aluminum?
250swb Posted July 7, 2015 Share #11  Posted July 7, 2015 Without have my measuring stick nearby I imagine aluminium catering foil (for disposable platters/serving plates and baking trays, etc.) would be around .2mm, or available in that thickness. You can buy home anodising kits pretty cheaply and turn things almost any colour you like.   Steve
