Carlo Posted April 24, 2015 Share #1  Posted April 24, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi Guys new to the forum as a member, although I have frequented it many times as a reference signed up today just wanted to upload some pictures of my white M3 interesting story behind it, Purchased it from a Japanese student that was here in Toronto studying, she claims that a friend of her family, get this Yaginuma Shintaro painted the camera for her although I have no documentation to back this up it's still gorgeous, I was under the impression Mr. Shintaro only worked in black, has anyone ever seen a coloured shintaro creation? cheers carlo Welcome, dear visitor! wattsy Posted April 24, 2015 Share #2 Â Posted April 24, 2015 Interesting customisation. A sort of "1950s hospital bed" aesthetic. 11
Guest Posted April 24, 2015 Share #3  Posted April 24, 2015 Interesting customisation. A sort of "1950s hospital bed" aesthetic. My first thought was "Professor Sauerbruch's antiseptic special operating room camera".
luigi bertolotti Posted April 24, 2015 Share #4 Â Posted April 24, 2015 Matter of taste.. but personally I like the color of the body... not so much the leather's color, and, above all, the chrome fittings imho don't match estethically--- is a "soft look" camera onto which sparkling components are out of atmosphere... madNbad Posted April 24, 2015 Share #5 Â Posted April 24, 2015 Looks like an accessory for a fashion forward schoolgirl. Â All it needs is a "Hello Kitty" in the film reminder.

earleygallery Posted April 24, 2015 Share #9  Posted April 24, 2015 Hospital bed  It's a one of a kind for sure - for an M3. People might mistake you for using a white M8, which would never do!  I'd recover it in a contrasting coloured leather instead of the white 'poor match' look.  Oh, and welcome. 250swb Posted April 25, 2015 Share #10  Posted April 25, 2015 The good thing about paint is that it can easily be stripped and repainted another colour. Just an observation  Steve
gbealnz Posted April 25, 2015 Share #11 Â Posted April 25, 2015 The Doc is most definitely correct. Firstly welcome. Secondly, he is correct that in today's ever digital world, it's nice to see an interest in the older analogue. Possibly not my cup of tea either, I'm a bit like Luigi, the leather might have been better another tone/colour perhaps. Each to their own though. pixie Posted May 11, 2015 Share #15 Â Posted May 11, 2015 Welcome to using the camera and this interesting forum. I prefer my M3 as is..nevertheless enjoy the white! Mine being very worn, carried all over the world. Often in situations deemed "dangerous and awkward". Now retired in Toronto. Go on photo walks almost daily.. You are welcome to join. All best jason. skinnfell Posted May 12, 2015 Share #16 Â Posted May 12, 2015 I would never want to be seen in public with this camera, but it does seem the paint job and upholstery is done by someone who really knows what they are doing. Â Â Â
jos58 Posted May 17, 2015 Share #17 Â Posted May 17, 2015 Although not my favourite 'color' of choice for a M3 body I appreciate the work that has gone into it. Put some film in it, stick a lens on and happy shooting !
sebastel Posted May 27, 2015 Share #18 Â Posted May 27, 2015 guys, you're too harsh. it's a matter of taste, and while i like chrome for being durable, i think this whitey is just lovely. cool thing, i like it!
BigBabyEarl Posted June 24, 2015 Share #19  Posted June 24, 2015 That camera is dope as hell. Really unique. I wouldn't change a thing, but I agree that a different leatherette (perhaps black vulcanite) could really set it off in a new way.
pico Posted June 25, 2015 Share #20 Â Posted June 25, 2015 I am pleasantly surprised by the comments regarding the kind of white of the body. I was immediately struck with old memories of hospital hardware white. Are we of the same generation? To that, I can only feel a bit disturbed until I consider it Vanilla. .
