Herr Barnack Posted February 14, 2015 Share #6 Posted February 14, 2015 I'm very sad to hear of your ordeal, Googaliser. This is every M photographer's nightmare. I hope and pray that the police will be able to nail the thieves (what worthless pieces of scheiße) and get your kit back to you undamaged.
Echo63 Posted February 14, 2015 Share #7 Posted February 14, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) May i suggest looking at Gumtree, Cash Converters and Ebay ? it sucks that your gear has been stolen, and i hope its insured (and that you have no problems dealing with the insurance company) or it is found and returned undamaged. I would also recommend having a chat with the camera shops with a 2nd hand dealers licence (i know Camera Electronic is one) and ask them to keep an eye out. if you use Facebook, there is a Perth Leica group - "Leica Perth" might be worth posting there too, its only a small group, but they may run into someone trying to get rid of a bunch of Leica gear
davidmknoble Posted February 14, 2015 Share #8 Posted February 14, 2015 Make sure everything is registered in the user area of leica camera ag. All leica dealers typically look here to see if registered and anyone requesting service or trying to register would not be able to .

The Expanding Man Posted February 26, 2015 Share #12 Posted February 26, 2015 Dear all, It is with great sadness that I report the theft of my beloved Leica collection, from Perth, Western Australia. Please let me know if any of you may encounter these on your travels. Sincerely, thank you, PS: PhaseOne and Canon items were also taken... PPS: The boxes were left behind I live in Perth. I suspect it is unlikely to have been a targetted burglary, looking specifically for leica gear. More likely to be the work of drug addicts, who do not appreciate the value of the stuff taken. What else was taken from the house, non-camera related?
~lumiere Posted March 7, 2015 Share #13 Posted March 7, 2015 What a terrible situation. I am sorry to hear this. I hope you find your gear. Is it really possible to insure Leica equipment in a reasonable way? I asked my insurer in the US and it did not seem to be possible.
