Â Are you missing something.....maybe a medium/dark red filter on your APO 50? Jennifer Posted February 9, 2015 Author Share #65  Posted February 9, 2015 I'm away in the South of France ATM and have only been able to review the output from this lens without any PP on my 13" Macbook, but my first, very unscientific impressions are that the APO trumps the Lux in contrast and resolution. Colours seem to pop whilst not being overblown. There's a transparent quality to the images. Notwithstanding the Lux's extra stop, I find the APO's Bokeh at 2.0 very pleasing. The smaller size and weight is also attractive and I can certainly see it being my go to 50 in all but low light situations.  Given the limitations of posting jpegs here I'll still endeavour to upload some once I get back home and can get a better look at the images I've shot here on a 27" screen.  BTW, for those that enquired I bought this 50AA for £4k which seemed a good price. Though previously owned, it had never been used (signed off at the factory early December and date stamped by a European dealer later the same month). Apparently, the original purchaser had ordered and paid for it months earlier at a time when 50AA's were like hen's teeth. Then, whilst waiting for delivery, he had second thoughts by which time supply to the market had improved and prices had softened. Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
