Yes UFO, I am always pushing to see what I can get and in this case the subject was a small portion of the frame and in the corner. It was a good shot (sharp and expression)so I explored how I could make it work without appearing as such. You picked it or at least replied with your hunch. Ken Abrahams Posted Saturday at 08:44 AM Share #5387 Posted Saturday at 08:44 AM Advertisement (gone after registration) Tony at Grande Lane - SL3 with Super Apo Summicron SL 21. I was about 200 mm away from subject, whatever it was, it was close and some started to show the wide angle warp so I backed off a bit. It's a surprising feature on the SL lenses where one can go very close. A great feature for portraits I think. Welcome, dear visitor! Best Ken ps. this reply has been stuck waiting for me to press submit, Thanks for taking the time to reply. It’s a very good example of what can be achieved with a high quality wide angle lens and an equally high quality sensor. Proves you don’t need a 90mm lens to take an excellent portrait.
Ken Abrahams Posted Sunday at 12:11 PM Share #5389 Posted Sunday at 12:11 PM We don't all have that harmonious balance between inner and outer selves. Many have incongruent aspects of personality and become self-conscious even stressed when a lens "peers in". I prefer to shoot candidly but try doing that when a few inches away from the subject. Many before me have commented on the amazing abilities of the Super Apo Summicron SL Asph, and yes when paired with a sophisticated sensor the results inspires great confidence for any photographer.
