Remembering the moment

Front light is not my favorite light situation.

But while waiting for our food, I noticed the contrast between Andan’s front lit face

and the « almost dark» background.

Hey, be it side, front or back, or top light, if the model or situation is interesting then I press on the shutter. Or if the image is slightly unsharp (like this one), is it that important?

It’s a very flattering light. Beautiful picture.

Nope, it’s not important at all, IMHO, as long as the moment is captured so beautifully. And by the way, the light looks gorgeous to me. Lovely job!

Respectfully, I disagree. Without the water bottle you still would not see the work because of the back/cross lighting blowing it out. For my taste, the important thing is that one  can see that the subject is engaged in an activity that is revealed. So often I see images where someone is doing 'something' which does not reveal what their hands are doing. This image ticks all the boxes, for me.

As an illustrative picture, the point of her intense concentration is lost, behind the bottle. Sorry, but I cannot agree with you. Circumstances do not alter that fact. Her point of work is obscured. Fact. Having got this picture from a distance, I would have asked if I could take another picture, repositioned very slightly, asking her to continue with her work, to show that missing detail. If she refused, so be it. Apologize, be polite, and leave.

At least we can agree to disagree. We each see something different in the woman at work. It is refreshing that there is a debate. This is quite rare in this picture forum, and should be encouraged.

An Oreo Moment

Andan enjoying her last bit of Oreo cookie.

Interesting quote from Diane Arbus: Taking pictures is like tiptoeing into the kitchen late at night and stealing Oreo cookies.

Hallo  R.,       (  / Hello @DC-S5 )

 I really like it.

With this picture you can see that it very much depends on the equipment used when taking the picture.

Objective with the essential - a warm drink - it visibly spreads its own unique charm. (;-)
