This one might have benefited from a tighter crop.  In the upper left corner, the yellow walls create a frame around the building doors and the two signs which drew my attention away from the lovely lady.  Wonderful contrast between the yellow walls and lady.

I agree with the distracting blue; I just prefer the space around my subjects rather than going too tight on the crop. It's part of what makes street portraiture frustrating, challenging but ultimately rewarding. Thanks for taking the time to think and comment though; I do apprecaite it.

I recommend a more stable tripod, Ian.

A very pleasant portrait that shows some of the uniqueness and appeal of the Thambar, particularly in the glow on the young lady's hand, the wonderfully fluid out of focus area behind her, and the gentleness of the in-focus area.

Portrait of my inquisitive granddaughter.  (Turning 3 years old tomorrow!)

Well, Rob, you've done it again!  What a great photograph!  I just showed it to my wife and she "Oh, what a beautiful child!  Look at her hair!"  We've three grandsons and she was really hoping for a granddaughter.  When we were young, we never cared it we had boys or girls . . . we just wanted 10 fingers and toes!  So, I asked her why she wanted a granddaughter so much, now, and she said, "Michael, you don't understand!  There are no cute clothes for boys."  Priorities.

Thank you, Mike.  I am a lucky grandfather with 2 wonderful grandchildren.

My wife says that Jordyn has got me 'wrapped around her fingers' and she is quite right about that! (But, so does Jacob).
