dolina Posted January 13, 2015 Share #1 Posted January 13, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) While I was visiting F-Foto's site I noticed they sold some accessories that may work with a Typ 113. I know the 43mm Classic Metal Hood works with it and sells for 1,550 Yen. F-Foto/ I just dont know whether the Thumb Rest or release button would work F-Foto/ F-Foto/
Advertisement Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 Hi dolina, Take a look here Typ 113 Accessories (3rd party). I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
wda Posted January 13, 2015 Share #2 Posted January 13, 2015 If you haven't already done so, why not try Leica accessories first? At least you know they are likely to work, or Leica would not list them as recommended items.
danmitch Posted January 13, 2015 Share #3 Posted January 13, 2015 I use the Leica (18774) lens hood designed for the X Vario on my 113, works fine of course.
dolina Posted January 14, 2015 Author Share #4 Posted January 14, 2015 Ah I didn't know it was compatible. Bh doesn't have it listed as compatible. Does it come in silver?
2wk Posted January 14, 2015 Share #5 Posted January 14, 2015 I would think the voigtlander optical viewfinder would be my top accessory for the 113. But I would rather have the leica one of course.
danmitch Posted January 14, 2015 Share #6 Posted January 14, 2015 The Leica hood is black only.
rivi1969 Posted January 16, 2015 Share #7 Posted January 16, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) Ah I didn't know it was compatible. Bh doesn't have it listed as compatible. Does it come in silver? I just bought a silver X 113, (on its way) and I am also looking for a lens hood, the black one for the Vario will work but I don´t think it will look well with the silver lens. I wonder if you could tell me the total diameter of the lens, my guess is perhaps between 58-62mm? I think I will buy a step-up ring from 43 to whatever the diameter is and get a 3rd party silver hood with cap. I think Leica forgot that they also have a silver version with brown leather, the VISOFLEX in silver would be ver nice... Regards, Ricardo
dolina Posted January 17, 2015 Author Share #8 Posted January 17, 2015 Really wish the Typ 113 had a built-in hybrid viewfinder. For 11,400 HKD it should have one. 2WK does the Voightlander VF match with 113?
dolina Posted February 4, 2015 Author Share #9 Posted February 4, 2015 rivi1969 it's a 43mm hood. Even Canon sells a 43mm hood. Model # EW-
2wk Posted February 4, 2015 Share #10 Posted February 4, 2015 Yes, the Voigtländer 35mm OVF will work fine. Really wish the Typ 113 had a built-in hybrid viewfinder. For 11,400 HKD it should have one. 2WK does the Voightlander VF match with 113?
jz_dragon Posted October 5, 2015 Share #11 Posted October 5, 2015 I would think the voigtlander optical viewfinder would be my top accessory for the 113. But I would rather have the leica one of course. G'day, just wondering if you or anyone knows - do I need a special 35mm to compensate for the smaller sized sensor format, or will any 35mm be accurate? I'm presuming that the multiplication of the sensor will mean that any third party 35mm could in theory be use. Looks like it's down to Voigtlander and Leica, are there others ? cheers
asiafish Posted October 5, 2015 Share #12 Posted October 5, 2015 I have the X Vario hood (on my X Vario) and so far haven't bothered with a hood at all on my X113. Flare is exceptionally well-controlled, and when it does intrude my left hand does a fine job of shading the lens. I understand the protection angle, but with the small size of the lens it hasn't been an issue.
rjans Posted October 5, 2015 Share #13 Posted October 5, 2015 Yes, the Voigtländer 35mm OVF will work fine. Indeed, I have the silver 35 mm OVF and it looks very good and is usable. When taking portraits I set the camera to face detection. The EVF from Leica is the best choice but considering the price and the design (perfect for the T) I opted for the Voigtländer OVF. I never take it off.
RickP Posted November 12, 2015 Share #15 Posted November 12, 2015 I just ordered my X 113 - LNIB used - 30 days old .. so it should be clean. My question is: if I get the Voigtlander OVF is there any chance the metal shoe will cause problems with all the electrical contacts on the hot shoe?? ramarren Posted November 12, 2015 Share #16 Posted November 12, 2015 just wondering if you or anyone knows - do I need a special 35mm to compensate for the smaller sized sensor format, or will any 35mm be accurate? I'm presuming that the multiplication of the sensor will mean that any third party 35mm could in theory be use. Looks like it's down to Voigtlander and Leica, are there others ? The effective field of view of the X typ 113 lens is equivalent to 35mm on FF, and all the OVFs are listed by 35mm FF FoV, so any 35mm finder will work find. I have both the Voigtländer and the Leica finders (bought for two different cameras over a span of years... ). The Voigtländer finder's FoV marking is a bit tighter than the Leica so in one sense it is a little easier to work with: it's like having a 92-95% coverage SLR viewfinder, you know that everything in the frame lines will be in the recorded image area and you'll have a bit more besides. The Leica frame lines are quite a bit more precise so you have to be careful framing when your subject is close as you'll clip it due to parallax error more easily. On the other hand, the Voigtländer finder's eye point is a bit tight if you wear glasses and the Leica's eye point is more relaxed—plusses and minuses. I use the Leica finder on the X most of the time. I use the Voigtländer finder on my other camera most of the time. When I need more precision (both focusing and framing) and an eye level viewfinder on the X, I slip the EVF into place. (The EVF is very good quality, if a bit bulky and odd looking.) There are third party finders that are quite good (both Russian and Chinese) but quality is variable. Another option is to use one of the other Leica finders, like the old Vario Finder or the modern FrankenFinder, and simply adjust it until you get the balance of coverage and targeting for parallax that you prefer.
