YEARS AND YEARS AND YEARS

Captured last autumn on my Leica C type 112 before all the leaves dropped. I always marvel about how many years such plants have survived and thrived especially through all weathers, storms and tempest, but still maintain their target shape.

SINGING HIS HEART OUT

I am really pleased with this shot on my C type 112 taken on the spur of the moment. The robin was singing so happily.

My little C always amazes me. The robin was at the top of a tree so a hasty shot hand held at maximum Zoom (200mm) and aperture priority f8 produced the image so sharp.

It's dust or a hair on your sensor - there are three or four other blobs too.  They'll show up at f/8 but maybe not with a larger aperture (f/2, f2.8) because of the depth of field.  I doubt that you would be able to clean the C's sensor yourself so you should ask your Leica dealer what to do.

Dust can often enter cameras like this that have a 'telescoping' zoom lens where dust can squeeze in through the gaps between the lens's sections as they move.

That sounds logical, although disturbing. This little camera lives in my top coat pocket which I use daily when walking my dog. I guess there is muck in the pocket so shall clean that too. I do have a case for the C but just feel it inhibits spontenaity if I have to deal with that when I see shots.

I'll check other images and also the lens before progressing. Grateful thanks for the input.

I have been in contact with Leica UK who will charge £100 to clean the sensor with a 2 week lead time. While there, the camera would be tested thoroughly and advice if anything further needed. I have taken more shots to-day after cleaning lens so shall examine those to see if the marks originate deeper in the camera.
