wda Posted November 12, 2014 Share #2 Posted November 12, 2014 My remedy is to remove lens hood caps and deliberately secrete them in a secure pocket and not retrieve them until the shooting session with that lens is finished. At home I no longer go into the garden with a lens hood cap in my possession. It stays indoors because I have discovered they do not propagate despite watering. I helped put a couple of bags onto the bus out, sat down and the cap was gone. I was fuming, particularly as I felt I knew the 50 ft of path on which I lost it.
