Advertisement Posted November 6, 2014 Posted November 6, 2014 Hi A miller, Take a look here Is there new firmware for the M9 and MM?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
NikonJeff Posted November 6, 2014 Share #2 Posted November 6, 2014 Looking on the Leica website the following is listed - nothing new… I just downloaded the "new" firmware listed in the link you provided but I'm skeptical… It would be nice if it were confirmed! Downloads // Support // Service & Support - Leica Camera AG MM 1.002 M9/M9p 1.196 M8/M8.2 2.
jaapv Posted November 6, 2014 Share #3 Posted November 6, 2014 If so, probably an update of the lens list.
pico Posted November 6, 2014 Share #4 Posted November 6, 2014 If so, probably an update of the lens list. What lenses would have been added?
A miller Posted November 6, 2014 Author Share #5 Posted November 6, 2014 Eg, new summarits
pico Posted November 6, 2014 Share #6 Posted November 6, 2014 Eg, new summarits I have firmware 1.202 None of the new Summarits show up in the manual lens set menu. Might a new Summarit be recognized and not be in the manual lens setting menu?
TomB_tx Posted November 6, 2014 Share #7 Posted November 6, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have firmware 1.202None of the new Summarits show up in the manual lens set menu. Might a new Summarit be recognized and not be in the manual lens setting menu? Yes - I believe only lenses that were once sold without 6-bit markings are in the manual selections. pico Posted November 7, 2014 Share #8 Posted November 7, 2014 I forgot to mention the new menu items, in particular is the Decisive Moment Critique in Review with the default option to delete.

NikonJeff Posted November 7, 2014 Share #10 Posted November 7, 2014 I just spoke two Mark at Leica in New Jersey and he said he was unaware of any new firmware from Leica AG. Wishful thinking that there would be an update though

DigitalHeMan Posted November 7, 2014 Share #13 Posted November 7, 2014 1.202 seems to be downloadable from Softpedia, but there is no mention of it on the Leica website with the other firmware downloads - the latest there is 1.196. I find it very strange that a newer version would not first be released to the Leica site. Has anyone received official confirmation from Leica that a new version has been released? M-Mount Posted November 8, 2014 Share #17 Posted November 8, 2014 I did it. No problems yet.Knock on wood. Any changes or benefits? Or not worth the risk?
pico Posted November 8, 2014 Share #18 Posted November 8, 2014 Any changes or benefits? Or not worth the risk? I did not find anything different, and it doesn't seem to write to the card any faster, but I still use it much like a film camera - simple. What was the issue with the four Advance shutter modes (standard, soft, discreet, discreet & soft)? I can check it.
MaDeVa Posted November 9, 2014 Share #19 Posted November 9, 2014 I did not find anything different, and it doesn't seem to write to the card any faster, but I still use it much like a film camera - simple. What was the issue with the four Advance shutter modes (standard, soft, discreet, discreet & soft)? I can check it. I did it also on my M-E. So far it looks same as before, writing data is slow as before...... it is probably an update for new lens coding such Summarit-M f/2.4. I will use more to see if the shutter locks when in discreet mode (I use to get it often with 1.196. Massimo
rosuna Posted November 9, 2014 Share #20 Posted November 9, 2014 The "new" Summaries have different codes than the old Summarits? They seem to be the same lenses, old and new...
