Leica has a very large range of Lux & Cron prime lenses for cine use. they are smaller and lioghter than other cine lenses, and I suspect of better quality. Welcome, dear visitor! fotografr Posted November 7, 2014 Share #3 Posted November 7, 2014 Lovely. I've never seen either of these lens versions. I wonder how their performances would compare to the standard M versions on an M body?
stuny Posted November 7, 2014 Author Share #4 Posted November 7, 2014 Digby, Jim, Pierre, Rick, Dave, Y & Brent - Thank you. At their cost perhaps they are better than M lenses. With one on an M you'd have a relatively cheap camera behind the lens.
IkarusJohn Posted November 7, 2014 Share #5 Posted November 7, 2014 Amazing looking gear. There is an M adapter for the Red camera, which would be an interesting combination. Not really into video, but I love the results the Red camera give.
fotografr Posted November 8, 2014 Share #6 Posted November 8, 2014 Digby, Jim, Pierre, Rick, Dave, Y & Brent - Thank you. At their cost perhaps they are better than M lenses. With one on an M you'd have a relatively cheap camera behind the lens. I just read that a set of six Summicron cine lenses from 18mm to 100mm sell as a set for $101,000. A set of eight Summilux cine lenses will set you back $178,000.
IkarusJohn Posted November 8, 2014 Share #7 Posted November 8, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Apparently, that's cheap.
Louis Posted November 11, 2014 Share #8 Posted November 11, 2014 Really beautiful!... No wonder why some people become fetishist! These cine lenses are really something else! I have an Angenieux zoom with Nikon mount that I almost never use!... They are very rare and as you know, they are mostly made for folks in Hollywood! ... I had really good results with it and wonder how it would perform on a Leica M!
stuny Posted November 11, 2014 Author Share #9 Posted November 11, 2014 Louis - I wonder if you can get an adapter and try it.
Louis Posted November 11, 2014 Share #10 Posted November 11, 2014 Louis - I wonder if you can get an adapter and try it. Stuart, as it has the Nikon mount, the adapter for Nikon lenses should work. But I should get a leica M to try it. It works really great on my Nikon film camera and my Nikon DSLR.
