Herr Barnack Posted November 1, 2014 Share #2 Posted November 1, 2014 I wonder if that offer will be made available through CONUS based dealers for we folk in America?
DigitalHeMan Posted November 2, 2014 Share #3 Posted November 2, 2014 My understanding from an earlier thread is that it is being supported by the Leica UK and is not planned to be offered outside of the UK. Which is a shame.

FrozenInTime Posted November 2, 2014 Share #5 Posted November 2, 2014 Leica does not discount cameras for fun; especially ones that have just been released. Demand must be below plan; at least in the UK.
rondeb Posted November 2, 2014 Share #6 Posted November 2, 2014 Seems like many "demos" and "display" bodies floating around US dealers as well. Just sayin...
250swb Posted November 2, 2014 Share #7 Posted November 2, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Leica does not discount cameras for fun; especially ones that have just been released. Technically it has just been released as a variant, but the reality is that the 'P' line has now become the last gasp makeover for an old model that has a year left on it's life. So all the tooling and production costs could be paid for by now, and although sales may be lower the profit per camera could be far higher, hence the ability to 'discount'. Stealth3kpl Posted November 3, 2014 Share #8 Posted November 3, 2014 Silver chrome standard M for £3900 in UK here Reviews of SLR Hut seem good. Perhaps it won't have the passport or long warranty that is available from a registered dealer. Still, seems a bargain. Pete

FrozenInTime Posted November 4, 2014 Share #10 Posted November 4, 2014 A virtual shop - beware. Just look at google maps - trading from a back room above a taxi office and importing from abroad - no UK warranty.

Probably more likely that the original M240 is still selling well and is almost £1000 cheaper. Despite the hatred here of many towards the red dot it seems that it's pretty popular (I wouldn't buy a Leica without it!) Rgds

Rgds The two separate and (near-literal) square centimeters of electricians' tape almost broke my bank, but I'm now happily living with neither the "lidless eye of Sauron" red dot nor the "M" (for "mug") letter on my M(-non-P) now especially obvious to the casual observer. They shouldn't have fussed me, but they did. ...Mike
