The Peterborough Strongman Challenge and The Peterborough Strong Woman Challenge were held concurrently at the Autumn Show on Sunday 12 October at the Peterborough Showground.

The 'Stones to Platform' contest required contestants to lift in quick succession, 4 concrete balls weighing 110kg - 120Kg each onto a wooden platform approx. 4ft 6" high, in less than one minute … and there was also one additional lift onto an oil drum if contestants could manage same.

The lifts required good technique as well as strength - and technique involved using plenty of adhesive tape on arms and sticky gel on hands and arms to protect the skin and improve grip.

The gel was cleaned off afterwards using lots of WD40.

Best wishes
