Sure….after you've spent your hard earned money. Lots of old people regret tattoos, too.

Remember…you have a track record of saying you'll never buy this or that…and then…. ;)

Possibly. But acquiring a new camera does not equate selling off an old one with me. They are all still around, except for my backup M8.:)

Here's a question. If and when Leica replaces the Monochrom, will they discontinue the current model? Or will they rebrand it into some type of "Monochrom M-E"?

Who knows? You would have to ask Leica that one. One could ask oneself whether it would make sense to have two models in such a low-volume niche.

Still have my back-up M8.2. ;)

Don't ever see a need for 2 MMs….my M or M8.2 would provide fine enough b/w for any back-up purpose.

Jeff

Well, there is your answer. I agree, and I will not consider selling any of my older Ms. As a matter of fact I gave my M8, which I really didn’t use at all any more to my brother as a loaner-forever.

Personally I wouldn't want a CMOS MM. I think that except for the glass issue, the current model is perfect.

Just for the sake of argument. Do you also own a M240 to compare the two bodies?

So far I think, that users of M240 + MM bodies have spoken more positive about the M240 body.

I'm not talking about the sensor and it capacity, I have no problems with that, but I really believe the " perfect" MM should be in a more solid body.

Yep…your brother is really going to love you when he gets your old MM. :)

I agree. I think it's unlikely they will create a "Monochrom M-E"" that would sell alongside the new MM. My guess is that, once the new MM is released, they will offer a discount ($750?) on the current MM to move out the remaining inventory.

I don’t really know but I don’t think it makes much sense to have two monochrome models in Leica’s portfolio. Most likely Leica would switch production from the old MM to the new one so that once a new model becomes available the remaining inventory of the current model will ideally be zero.
