Ernstk Posted October 3, 2014 Share #1 Â Posted October 3, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Can anyone give me a definitive answer as to how well the 21/3.4 Super Angulon works with the M8?I understand that it doesn't meter properly but how bad is the problem and is it consistent or does it shift according to the light? Â Also, do the issues persist with the M9 or does it work OK? Â Thanks

luigi bertolotti Posted October 12, 2014 Share #4  Posted October 12, 2014 ....Also, do the issues persist with the M9 or does it work OK? Thanks  The problem of metering persits on M9 (and M240, too) ... and obviously (FF vs. crop) the vignetting is more significant... thompsonkirk Posted October 12, 2014 Share #5 Â Posted October 12, 2014 I've been using the 21 f2.8 Biogon on MM. Though it mounts rather deeply in what we used to call the 'film chamber,' metering seems to work. I use lens code for WATE 21mm. Can't say much about vignetting, because I don't use it at wide apertures. On M9 it caused color shifts at ends of frame. But this might not be a problem on M8, because of crop factor? tobey bilek Posted October 14, 2014 Share #6 Â Posted October 14, 2014 Bought a new one when they were available new. Sold it in 3 months. Still have the the 21 2.8 preasph that replaced it. Â Save it for collectors is my advice. Â It vignettes badly to 11 or 16 on FILM as it is a true WA design.Digital has to be worse. Â The rear element blocks the metering spot so the cell can not see most of it. Â The one redeeming feature is no distortion.
