Advertisement Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 Hi basse, Take a look here Photokina: Leica S (007) + 100f2. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
erlingmm Posted October 12, 2014 Share #22 Posted October 12, 2014 No reason to deny what the examples show. but this lens is not optimized for photographing sharp and shiny metal edges, but for portraits. Look at sortvitt's examples above!
basse Posted October 12, 2014 Share #23 Posted October 12, 2014 Absolutely right. Sorry, I wanted to reply only to the previous question with an example. The performance for portraits appear to me to be great and the colors are perfect, if not a metal tooth or pearcing ring in the image. Moreover breathtaking sharp. In direct comparison with the 120mm the 100mm is a different league my impression for portraits. Above all, the problem with the skin tones is apparently solved, there is no unnatural emphasis of red / orange as it is easily the 120mm is the case, even if it is not noticeable when there is no comparison with the 100mm takes place. basse Posted October 12, 2014 Share #24 Posted October 12, 2014 Just not perfect for a comparison , but the color difference is visible (manually change to identical colour temperatur in LR), also different length 120 vs 100: 1. 120mm F 2.5 (daylight) 2. 100mm F 2.0 (daylight) Welcome, dear visitor! RVB Posted October 12, 2014 Share #25 Posted October 12, 2014 Looks like an amazing lens... I have one on order and after looking at these samples I'm glad I ordered it. Lack of APO is not that important,we have this in the 120mm if we need it. I would like to see a wider Summicron next though with APO,something around 35-60mm..and a 30mm Tilt&Shift of course! lik Posted December 21, 2014 Share #30 Posted December 21, 2014 Hi, just a question about the S-Cron 100 which I have for 4 weeks now: The autofocus of mine is noticeably slower than, for example, that of the 30-90 or 180. The focus ring is generally more difficult to move than the one of the other S lenses I have. Can the smooth running of the ring and the pace of AF related? The ring must finally do move the same mass as the Focus-Motor. May be due to the overall-focus of the whole lens-system inside the 100 in contrast to the internal focusing of lenses / groups inside the 30-90? Anyone the same or different experience? Thanks in advance for answering! Best wishes and happy holidays lik
