Henry, Adam, Paul, and Stuart,

Thank you for looking in and for your thoughts and feedback. Always much appreciated.

Henry, I started this journey with film a VERY long time ago, but got lazy along the way. Now I am trying to find my way back to my first love.

Paul, you should definitely get another turntable (they are easier to find, now they are "hip" again) but keep it away from the doggies ;)

My husband has a nice but beat-up collection (mostly '60s stuff). Those records are joy to listen to....

Ben, Louis, Thank you!!! I appreciate your kind feedback, always. Means a lot to me.

Louis, my film camera is an M6TTL and this was with the 35 summicron.

I grew up mostly with Turkish classical music as my dad was into it big time (he played the kanun; e.g. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/4/44/79-tone_Kanun_on_the_couch.jpg ).

My love of music spread into multiple dimensions from college onwards.

I used to have a Dual turntable with an electronic drive! The big thing then, I recall, was the cartridge and stylus. Mine was a Shure V15 mk3. The whole process of slipping the vinyl out of its sleeve, cleaning the dust and laying it onto the turntable, setting down the arm.......was pure therapy! ( some referred to it as a pain in the .......!!) but I loved every moment. Oh and the sound of a deutsche gramophone or decca product..... That's going back a looooong time!!!

This image brought it back Ece. Thanks for the memories!

Now back to my iPhone music air play!!!

Dear Ece, I was just joking with you! ;) I do also enjoy the Turkish music very much, but of course, I do not have your knowledge in this domain. I have heard it quite often when I was a student and had few very close Turkish friends (also the Turkish coffee, I must add! ;) ). I do know your love for music. I have always been admiring your dedication for your beautiful daughter musical education. But, not only musical; she is becoming such lovely young lady and I have no doubt that she would always be grateful to you.

Sharookh, Louis, Brenton, Hank,

I am happy to know that this image resonated with you. I do appreciate the feedback very much.

Sharookh, your description of "cleaning" the dust off the vinyl brought a vivid image of a cleaning "device" that was shaped like a board eraser and it had velvety red cloth along its cleaning surface. You had to gently run it along the grooves to pick up the dust! I guess there were no dust blowers in those days... ;)

Louis, you are an amazingly kind gentleman, and your friendship and support means a lot to me.

Hank, yes, this is off the circle along Glasell (close to Chapman). Some of those charming antique stores are disappearing from that area unfortunately, giving way to the likes of hipster cheese shops and gourmet ice cream joints.
