onceuponatime Posted September 15, 2014 Share #1 Posted September 15, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Digilux 2 LC1 in a smaller body m43 sensor. Summilux F1.7-2.8 : 24-75mm. Quite something to get a Lux (even a Panaleica). Aperture & focus ring. Shutter dial. Exposure compensation dial. 2.7M dot EVF. 3cm close focus. Throsten will love this as will others I think. (Panasonic Lx100 videos on youtube).
Advertisement Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Hi onceuponatime, Take a look here I think we have Digilux 2 / LC1 successor. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jjb Posted September 15, 2014 Share #2 Posted September 15, 2014 Had a similar thought when I read the rumor site story. We should hear very soon now. Of course, the D2 / LC1 was mostly about that fast (f2 - f2.4), Leica-designed, non-telescoping lens, with a useful range of 28mm to 90mm plus lens rings for aperture, manual focus, and zoom. The build quality, silent shutter, and ergonomics of the D2 are noteworthy too. Such a formula could still work. But let's hope for modern things like shorter lag times, faster auto focus, high resolution/integrated EVF, high resolution/flip-down LCD, good ISO performance with easy adjustment, no AA filter, weather-sealing, and classic good looks like the D2 - only somewhat smaller. Could be a nice travel camera. The rumored 24mm wide-end would be an improvement. Will be interesting to see how this model fits into the Leica lineup, assuming the rumor is true. Also wonder how this camera fits with Panny's GX7, a clever m4/3 model supported by an impressive interchangeable lens family.

Paolo.Battista Posted September 16, 2014 Share #4 Posted September 16, 2014 I agree, this new D-Lux seems to be a feasible successor of the Digilux-2: fast lens, integrated viewfinder and so on. The only missing part is the manual zoom ring, it seems. Now let's see how the new lens performs.
