Thanks Nico for your nice comment.

Recently I shoot several weddings with my M7. The married prefer film , not digital and asked me. As they know I have Leica gear they also ask me to take their wedding preparations.
I accepted and all photos were then printed on Kodak silver paper. Some nice photos are enlarged in 30x40 from the negative.

The parents of the married couple also asked a professional photographer with his two Canon 5DII, but without shooting the wedding preparations.
Finally , by comparing the two types of photos, the bride and groom prefer their wedding in film and have asked me to develop them and print on paper

Here one photo taken with the M7. I voluntarily chose this picture to also show you the photographer with his Canon.

M7-Kodak Portra 400-35 Summilux Asph

Nico with the summilux I can shoot inside the church without flash (I don't like because flash disturbs the ceremony) but I need sometimes a monopod when I am in dark light condition ....  but generally not necessary

Really nice Henry. The shadow and the rock add foreground interest without detracting from the background.

Nico, forget to say that you can see the Mont Blanc 4808m  in background , the highest summit of Europa.

I usually use my M7 for color photos (and MP for b&w) but sometimes I also

shoot b&w with the camera.

Here a recent picture taken with my M7 and Kodak TX400 (dev myself with

Kodak Pro. pure D76) > also fine for b&w

My 0.58 M7 arrived today to complement the 0.72 MP - It has the updated finder and the updated DX reader - 294XXXX Some dust on the inside of the eyepiece - so will send it back to get it cleaned - after I've shot a few rolls though!

More info would be appreciated, but it looks like the Japan domestic market edition.  If that camera you're showing on the picture has remained unchanged since it's release, it neither has the MP viewfinder upgrade nor the DX coding upgrade.

There are other special edition M7's to go for, if you're in to something different.  Otherwise a plain Jane (newer) M7 is what you want if you're looking for a user camera.

Who uses a soft release with their M7? I heard that this could cause problems if it gets caught on something.

In fact I don't use anymore. You can hear a strange metallic sound when you click. Also the exposure's block doesn't seem usual.

Could anyone confirm that this is the updated optical DX reader? - I think it is but not completely sure! Thanks

Yes, that's the optical DX reader. The mechanical version has brass studs sticking out.

By coincidence I have just picked up my M7 today which has just come back from Wetzlar having had the optical reader fitted. I left the camera with customer care in December so it has taken only a month or so (including the Christmas period) for the camera to be sent to Germany, the DX reader to be retrofitted and the camera returned to London. A very good service IMO and it's nice to know that Leica still stand behind (some of) their products.
