Popular Post pico Posted January 14, 2016 Popular Post Share #282 Posted January 14, 2016 Like the way you think... I'll ask if today qualifies... For reasons beyond my consciousness, I have always loved rainy days. I think it began with my Mother who would gather a couple umbrellas and invite me to walk and see. Seriously, she was an amazing person considering the times, the Fifties.

Prosophos Posted January 31, 2016 Share #285 Posted January 31, 2016 Pico, photos in fog or in rain with the film are beautiful We can see raindrops or fog droplets that are well reproduced by the grain of the film. Really you can believe me like in this picture Film Ilford HP5 Leica M7-28 Summicron Asph Original photo Image24foghp5-2okcorlufht+++800-60 bis.jpg and crop 100% of film ,at left in the trees * in film you can see droplets of fog with grains* Image24foghp5-2cropfoghp5luf+++600 bis.jpg but in digital , pixels of droplets are smoothed (smoothing characteristic of digital) by the camera photo software L1016336-Modifier-Modifier-3-600bis.jpg Crop 100% Leica M8 Summicron 28 Asph same place , same moment Best Henry * like in a painting of Seurat Georges_Seurat_026.jpg Excellent post, excellent point. Step back a bit with the M8 and retake the same image and I might like that one better
Doc Henry Posted February 6, 2016 Author Share #289 Posted February 6, 2016 (edited) Steve , I completely agree. Stone is more faithul in film , a little pink for this church (XIV century) , a little "cooler" with M8 as you said. The M8 is the best digital camera from Leica, the first and it is a success !The compliment coming from someone who has passed on analog , the colors of M8 are more faithful than the M9 which remains a camera giving a "vivid bright color" (better than the M240 *). Unfortunately, the image is digital and we see the difference with the film , image "flat" in digitalRemember that the M8 has a CCD sensor , and M240 a CMOS sensor. The "colors are more neutral" on the CMOS compared to CCD "vivid" as said Erwin Puts. Best Henry * I had M240 on loan for severa weeks. Edited February 6, 2016 by Doc Henry

Doc Henry Posted February 20, 2016 Author Share #291 Posted February 20, 2016 (edited) Hello All,it has been a long time Other possibilities of M7 it is macro photoit needs the famous Macro Elmar 90 and its macro adapter (ratio 1/3) Welcome, dear visitor! The rest is just fun to see the world of small infinity It's true that it's not worth the reflex with its big lens dedicated to the macro with a bellows .I find heavier and less practical (I also have this reflex system with 3 Leica R)If you want something lighter for the macro and with your M , I recommend you this mount convenient to put tripod into a backpack and it is significantly lighter .... and on the way for macro shots by bike ride or walk The result (picture uncropped) : Kodak Portra 160 Leica M7-90 ME-MacroAdapter-Magnifier viewer 90° for focusing from the top + light fiber carbon Tripod ......+ patience and pleasure and without Macro Adapter you can have this kind of picture http://www.l-camera-forum.com/topic/205842-i-like-filmopen-thread/?p=2992642 Your advice ? Guest Posted February 20, 2016 Share #292 Posted February 20, 2016 Looks good. Especially with the M7's shutter priority system makes macro exposure easier than with a mechanical M camera. Good work!

Doc Henry Posted February 25, 2016 Author Share #295 Posted February 25, 2016 (edited) Looks good. Especially with the M7's shutter priority system makes macro exposure easier than with a mechanical M camera. Good work! Yes David thanks, as you said it's useful under certain conditions. Macro photo needs a precise measurement of exposure time. It can change in few seconds and as you work in small infinity , the precision is really practical. As I said above the exposure coupled to the diaphragm is sometimes very useful if you do not want to miss the photo. I miss very few photos with the M7 , because the measurement system is formidable.
