Mark, this is wonderful and beautifully composed.....who'd have thought that Centennial Park could be made to so closely resemble the Northern Territory!

When my kids were young we used to walk in this park every afternoon for the benefit of our little dog. The kids used called the Ibis 'Council Cleanup Birds'

as they were always sorting through abandoned rubbish left behind by careless picnickers.

Tom, Andrew, Brent, Ece, Bill, Dee, and 'thank-you-button-clickers' thank you for all of your psoitive comments. Much appreciated.

Dee, I live five minutes walk from Centennial Park. An wonderful place in the middle of the Eastern Suburbs.

I'll post some more Park Photos soon.

The ibis photo was taken of the birds on a bird sanctuary island in one of the park's larger ponds:

The Centennial Parklands rangers consider the Ibis to be pests because of their large numbers and nesting habits disrupting the environment for other birds. The rangers work on dismantling the nests to discourage them from staying.

And you're right about these bold birds and their scavenging rubbish.
