platypus Posted August 29, 2014 Share #7 Posted August 29, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Mark, this is wonderful and beautifully composed.....who'd have thought that Centennial Park could be made to so closely resemble the Northern Territory! When my kids were young we used to walk in this park every afternoon for the benefit of our little dog. The kids used called the Ibis 'Council Cleanup Birds' as they were always sorting through abandoned rubbish left behind by careless picnickers. Monochrom, 1.4/35 Summilux ASPH (FLE) The Centennial Parklands rangers consider the Ibis to be pests because of their large numbers and nesting habits disrupting the environment for other birds. The rangers work on dismantling the nests to discourage them from staying. And you're right about these bold birds and their scavenging rubbish.
