fotografr Posted August 24, 2014 Share #1 Posted August 24, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) On hot, muggy evenings in August the Cicada orchestras here can be loud enough that it becomes hard to sleep with windows open. pauledell Posted August 24, 2014 Share #2 Posted August 24, 2014 Brent, Yes, they make lots of noise but it has a nostalgic sound that brings back memories from my childhood around this time of the year. You have a great capture of this one. Paul
platypus Posted August 24, 2014 Share #3 Posted August 24, 2014 This takes me back too. As kids did back then we used to catch these critters and keep them in shoe boxes. This one looks like a Black Prince which were the rarest and most desirable. Great shot!

fotografr Posted August 25, 2014 Author Share #6 Posted August 25, 2014 Thank you all very much. Dee, I had no idea there were even different varieties. I like the thought of this one being a Black Prince, so will go with that. Louis, I shot this with the DLux6 in macro mode. ISO was 100 and my aperture was around f2.6. I did have to crop to get it a bit tighter. This is about 60% of the original frame.
