gvaliquette Posted May 4, 2007 Share #2 Â Posted May 4, 2007 Do you have an SD card in the DMR? Â Guy

Englander Posted May 4, 2007 Share #4 Â Posted May 4, 2007 The counter on the R9/R8 only indexes the physical advancement of film. The counter for digital is on the digital back. It shows in a small rectangle below the main LCD window. The flashing counter probably indicates that the back is not seated properly or the contacts between the back and the camera need to be wiped down. psquared Posted May 5, 2007 Share #5 Â Posted May 5, 2007 Those 2 displays flash when you have exposure bracketing set. I'm not sure why the camera isn't working though.
rsolomon Posted May 5, 2007 Share #6 Â Posted May 5, 2007 how about the back door that opens to gain access to the sensor, check to see if this is seated and closed properly. also make sure the film advance lever is returned to the close position
topoxforddoc Posted May 5, 2007 Share #7  Posted May 5, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Ogrove,  Does the back display light up when you turn it on? If it does, it means that the DMR will boot and power up.If it doesn't then try reseating the battery.  If it powers up, will the shutter fire? If not, then take the DMR and R9 apart and check/clean the gold contacts. Reassemble and try again.  I have had the odd occasion whe this happens and I just take the back off and reattach.  Good luck  Charlie
ogrove Posted May 6, 2007 Author Share #8 Â Posted May 6, 2007 I have taken the back off cleaned all the contacts ,checked the battery and card all OK everything powers up OK but the shutter does not fire still ,and looking through the viewfinder the OO continue to flash ,the problem must be in the Digital unit as changing from R9 TO R8 still not working . harrisfoto Posted May 7, 2007 Share #9 Â Posted May 7, 2007 Does the shutter fire when the film back is on? Make sure that the shutter is cocked before removing the film back and putting on the DMR back? Also, the film advance lever must be in the closed position. Has the software for the cameras been updated by leica for the DMR? When I first got my DMR, it would take one or two pictures, but after that, the shutter would not fire. I sent the camera and back to Leica in New Jersey, and they upgraded the software (firmware) for the camera body. After that, no problems for well over a year. robsteve Posted May 7, 2007 Share #10 Â Posted May 7, 2007 Have you tried a different SD card? Â Is the multiple exposure lever under the rewind lever in the multi-exposure setting? Â which display is flashing the 00, the one in the finder, the top deck or the display on the DMR?

harrisfoto Posted May 8, 2007 Share #14 Â Posted May 8, 2007 As I recall, I have had a similar problem with an R8 and the Digital back. If the White Balance is set to flash, on the Digital Module, either the shutter will not release, or I get an all gray exposure. I thought that it was a problem with the camera and/or the digital back. However, once I set the white balance to A, with the flash not attached, the problem went away. I have experienced it a couple of times, when I went from shooting flash, to available light. After I disconnected the flash, I forgot to set the white balance back to A. (Conversely, the camer will not fire with the flash attached, unless the White Balance on the Digital Back is set to flash.) Make certain that the white balance is not set to flash, try A.
