Advertisement Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 Hi stuny, Take a look here A hint of how Adam does his street shooting (4 photos) . I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
A miller Posted August 8, 2014 Share #2 Posted August 8, 2014 Heeeyyy! I thought we were supposed to shoot other people, not EACH OTHER!!!?!? Very funny; I should have dressed a little smarter It may take me a while to collate and process my shots; but I will indeed post in due course. Since you posted these, I'll share a couple that match the moment of yours. You're a swell guy and I much enjoyed spending the early morning with you. Look forward to seeing more of the shots you took and our next time together. Best, Adam Welcome, dear visitor! Avatar Posted August 8, 2014 Share #4 Posted August 8, 2014 very enjoyable thread but I think Adam might look better in black and white.
Louis Posted August 8, 2014 Share #5 Posted August 8, 2014 Stuart, I always believed the street photographers should be transparent!!!... But Adam is extremely "noticeable"!... I very much enjoyed this reportage on street photography! Adam, I hope you also have some shots of Stuart in the middle of action! I love your second shot; the lady with cigarette! A great thread! MarkP Posted August 8, 2014 Share #6 Posted August 8, 2014 Stuart, I always believed the street photographers should be transparent!!!... But Adam is extremely "noticeable"!... Certainly nothing discrete about Adam's choice of colours for street photography. He could have been walking around with a view camera and no-one would have noticed it. Interesting new approach to discretion in street photography - brightly coloured clothes so no-one pays attention to what is in his hands. I very much enjoyed this 'behind the scenes' documentary
stuny Posted August 8, 2014 Author Share #7 Posted August 8, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Avatar, Ali, Tom, Gerhard, Louis & mark - Thank you. Adam - I knew they'd be terrific, and I'm glad you posted the one of the woman you were shooting in my first photo above.
A miller Posted August 8, 2014 Share #8 Posted August 8, 2014 Ha, ha, very funny. You guys made my day (off) There is hardly anything discreet about me. So why try? It actually never occurred to me to even think about it. I get the same reaction from people when I wear my wall street uniform during the week. So I think Mark's theory, although "tongue and cheek," actually makes sense (to me) Stuart, on the other hand, was in his stealthy all black "street photography" fatigues, looking much more distinguished and handsome than me. I looking to sharing more from this morning...
pauledell Posted August 9, 2014 Share #9 Posted August 9, 2014 Stuart, A great set. Now we all know Adam's street Photography uniform. The only thing he needs are knee pads for his real "down on the street" poses for you. Paul
stuny Posted August 9, 2014 Author Share #10 Posted August 9, 2014 Adam, Robert, Sharookh, Allen & tom - thank you. Paul - thank you. I too was wondering about knee pads.

A miller Posted August 10, 2014 Share #12 Posted August 10, 2014 I played offensive line in college, so I'm used to being on my knees. It's like second nature I'm also used to getting whacked in the face, which we'll get into later...
stuny Posted August 11, 2014 Author Share #13 Posted August 11, 2014 Avatar - thank you. Adam - Your size, big enough to play defensive lineman in your day should have been enough to discourage that fellow who smacked you.

A miller Posted August 13, 2014 Share #15 Posted August 13, 2014 A unique insight into how to do close people, thanksI never realised about the blue T-shirt, its the things the pros never tell you .. mine is on its way Hi Harold - yes, a blue shirt is a must; sorry if you hadn't received the memo. If one is not available, any color will do as long as it does not match the color of your shorts/pants. And Air Jordans are not strictly required, although they are strongly suggested as they are extremely comfortable and supportive, and allow for maximum stealthiness in NYC (as just about everyone wears them). A recommend the Retro III versions, as I find them the most comfortable ( I have 4 different pairs and wear them all regularly). A hand towel is purely optional, although if you sweat profusely like me it will come in handy to keep your camera dry.
