jaapv Posted June 26, 2014 Share #61 Posted June 26, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Judging from how often discussion of Auto ISO centers on minimum and maximum shutter speeds and not on the fact that it should work with manually-selected shutter speeds, I'm still not sure everyone's even aware of the problem now. :confused:I wonder where you were when this was discussed in a rather heated way. Actually I do not recall any emphasis on minimum and maximum shutterspeed.
Advertisement Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 Hi jaapv, Take a look here New evf for the M240. Coming.. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
paulsydaus Posted June 27, 2014 Share #62 Posted June 27, 2014 Thank you for sharing your info. Dear John, I was one of the first ones complaining about this issue, while some of you were happy taking pictures of your house pets... Sorry to being rude. I was calling the factory nearly every single day. Even the officials weren't aware about this issue. It took a long time for Leica to develop the software. But at that time these words came from top Officials from Leica and I had to share it all with friends that felt the same way as I did. So I will keep my mouth shut till June 30th. When the Embargo date ends for the new software.

I am really unhappy with the way the M(240) renders dog fur. The white balance really needs improvement. I hope they are working like dogs to fix this. jaapv Posted June 28, 2014 Share #68 Posted June 28, 2014 I have no problems with the white balance of dogs. At worst it is off by a whisker.
CheshireCat Posted June 28, 2014 Share #69 Posted June 28, 2014 Title says it all. If you find your self questioning about my credibility about this. See you at photokina:) At last someone showing balls in this forum. Can't wait for Photokina
luigi bertolotti Posted June 28, 2014 Share #70 Posted June 28, 2014 At last someone showing balls in this forum. Can't wait for Photokina ... and rather smart not to anticipate tech details about.... a "new evf" doesn't necessarly mean "an evf with improved tech specs"... Haha, totally true ! That will probably be a Praseodymium-plated with Python-inserts version of the same obsolete hardware

algrove Posted July 12, 2014 Share #73 Posted July 12, 2014 Hans Reread this thread today and I see it is after 30 June now. So what do you have to say?
AlanJW Posted July 12, 2014 Share #74 Posted July 12, 2014 Hans Reread this thread today and I see it is after 30 June now. So what do you have to say? Hans' reference to June 30 was not to a new EVF but to the firmware update that did change auto ISO. So in defense of Hans, he was right on auto iso and I really hope he is right on a new M 240 EVF, which I think he said was going to be at Photokina. 01af Posted July 12, 2014 Share #75 Posted July 12, 2014 New EVF for the M (Typ 240). Coming. Umm ... I wouldn't bet my ass on it.
jip Posted July 12, 2014 Share #76 Posted July 12, 2014 Won't be a new one coming the CPU of the M240 is not fast enough...
jdlaing Posted July 12, 2014 Share #77 Posted July 12, 2014 The VF-4 would work on the M240 without any problem if Leica chose to use it. The CPU is no problem.
timde Posted July 12, 2014 Share #78 Posted July 12, 2014 I took a look over what I think was the "CPU" Diagram for the M240 Image Processor and it seemed like the EVF was driven from a "Dedicated Hardware Block" that was not capable of offering a higher resolution. Therefore it would seem that a new Processor would be required rather than a faster one. The newer processor does exist ... and is rather impressive (faster and larger buffer for instance) ...
