So I've been looking at Leica R lenses for a while (seeing as they are considerably cheaper than M). And I was wondering; Are the R lenses Just as good as M? (if not ill get an M lens) and, Is the Leica R-M adapter any good? I know they exist but I was wondering if it ruined the image, and If it is even worth it.

Thanks for helping me out!

I assume you are putting these on a non leica camera. If so - M lenses with focal lengths less than 50mm tend to not work well on anything but Leica rangefinders. R lenses are good lenses also - and should work better on non leica mirrorless cameras. I would just buy thd AF lenses designed to work with your camera

I don't believe the Leica adapter is rangefinder coupled. I think you can use it on the M8, however you will have no way to focus the R lens. On the M(240) you can use Live View or the EVF attachment.

I don't have the adapter because I have no R lenses, so I could be wrong.

There is no way to rangefinder couple an R lens, at least not without doing a rebuild of the lens.
