M-E - M9(P) were discontinued, replaced with ME. No more USB port on the side of the camera, no frame line selector lever. nameBrandon Posted June 4, 2014 Share #4 Posted June 4, 2014 Black Leica Logo? Hrm.. my mistake, they removed it completely on the M9P.. I thought there was a digital M body with an actual black logo.. maybe I just imagined it.
luigi bertolotti Posted June 4, 2014 Share #5 Posted June 4, 2014 If you tend towards a black camera, there isn't difference between M9 and M9P... but if you (like me) do prefer the silver/chrome bodies, the M9 has a someway odd tone of silver... much less "classic" than M9P (and M 240) ... of course, just a matter of taste... but is not so well "coupled" with the chrome lenses... It's steel gray. My previous X1 also had this color. I quite like it. As mentioned, differences are mainly cosmetic and will not affect the results in any way. I would tend to go on condition and price.
sblutter Posted June 6, 2014 Share #9 Posted June 6, 2014 I picked up an M-E to back up a M9P and for the future The color has really grown on me, especially with black Thumbie & logo dot.
