M240 Battery Usage %

I received an M240 today. Having a great time with it.

I charged the battery until the 80% light came on. Set the camera up and had to take a few photos to have a look in Lightroom.

I then let the battery charge for at least 2 hours. The 80% light came on and the constant green light. I understand that means the battery is fully charged. However the battery percentage is still showing 80% when I put it in the camera and immediately hit the Info button. Can't understand why it would not be 100%.

Any one else seen this. I am missing something?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Les

The manual speaks about fully discharging and recharging the battery twice, with it coming up to full capacity on the third charge. This is a pretty common procedure for all Li ion batteries when new.

I did this with mine, making sure I drained it right down each time, and have had no problems.

I suspect if you fully discharge and fully charge a couple of times, it should come to full capacity. :)

If ever I can get hold of the individuals in German companies who have convinced their German employers that they speak fluent English and are thus qualified to write the manuals for their equipment, I will wring their bloody necks and no judge would convict me.

Admittedly, Leica are better than most in this regard, but they are by no means perfect. In many cases German manuals have become the unreadable laughing stocks that Chinese manuals were a generation ago.

I own a Fischer Panda marine generator. It is a lovely piece of machinery, but how the manual translates things like "exhaust back pressure" is reminiscent of the worst schoolboy potty humour.

Don't feel bad about missing things in the manual. The small print does not help either. I downloaded the .pdf, and printed it on A4 and bound it. At least now I can try to read it.
