I just added the Leica grip, and two days later, the Q3 battery is drained. I recharge it, the scenario repeats. I remove the grip, repeat the process. The battery holds the charge normally. I added a thin PVC pad between the camera contacts and the grip base. No more issues, but no more wireless charging! Is there a solution to restore normal 100% Leica device functionality?

I had a real surprise which has occasioned a couple of questions. I don't take my R9/DMR out as often as I used to and it has seemed to me for a while now that the life of my two batteries has decreased dramatically. So this past weekend I decided to check things out properly. I charged both of my original equipment batteries, then ran both of them down until they gave it up. I was grading student papers, so I'd grade a few paragraphs and then shoot off 5 shots in quick succession (continuous mode), grade a little more and repeat. One battery gave me 385 shots before biting the proverbial; the other, a slacking 360. I even chimp'd a little with the playback just to impart some token verisimilitude. So am I right in assuming that these batteries do not hold their charge over long periods very well? —because they obviously do OK when freshly charged. Also, at what point do people decide its time for a rebuild typically? I've had mine for six years now. Brent 'Great surprise, but I didn't get many papers graded.

I searched the forum but did not find any information on the topic of battery damage caused by dropping, so here is my dilemma: Today I accidentally dropped one of my Q2 batteries (#BP-SCL4). It fell about 4 ft. (1.2 m) and landed on a hardwood floor. It was in a Tenba battery pouch, which has thin neoprene padding on the bottom and sides but none on the top. It sounded like it hit on the top where there is no padding (why, yes - of course!) 🙄 I see no physical damage to the battery - no dings or cracks in the outer case, and no leaking (so far). I inserted the battery into the Q2 and the camera indicates a full charge. My concern is that this drop may shorten the life of the battery, that it may not hold a charge or it may not take a full charge down the road. If anyone has had a similar experience with a Q2 or other M camera battery and can shed some light on what I can expect, it would be a great help. Thanks in advance!

I received an M240 today. Having a great time with it. I charged the battery until the 80% light came on. Set the camera up and had to take a few photos to have a look in Lightroom. I then let the battery charge for at least 2 hours. The 80% light came on and the constant green light. I understand that means the battery is fully charged. However the battery percentage is still showing 80% when I put it in the camera and immediately hit the Info button. Can't understand why it would not be 100%. Any one else seen this. I am missing something? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks, Les
