mirekti Posted May 19, 2014 Share #1 Posted May 19, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Is there anyone using this monitor on Win7? I calibrated the monitor, and after a week or two I get the message that the monitor has to be re-profiled. So I reprofiled the monitor again, and the message appeared again after a week or so. The thing is I didn't enable any reminder for the profile, yet the pop up hops out. Any idea what I'm doing wrong? I understand the monitor needs recalibration from time to time, and I will do it, but I would like to decide when to do it. And this pop up is very annoying. Advertisement Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 Hi mirekti, Take a look here Dell U2713H recalibration. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jaapv Posted May 20, 2014 Share #2 Posted May 20, 2014 X-Rite? You should set the reminding period. Anything from a week to never, iirc.
250swb Posted May 20, 2014 Share #3 Posted May 20, 2014 If you didn't actively set a reminding period it is probably on the default setting. I remember with Spyder 2 it was buried in some small 'control panel' that you'd never normally look at although I think the current Spyder software is clearer and easier. mirekti Posted June 16, 2014 Author Share #4 Posted June 16, 2014 X-Rite? You should set the reminding period. Anything from a week to never, iirc. Exactly that. There is a Dell software (I believe it was made by X-Rite) which uses X‑Rite i1Display Pro. In the software one can calibrate two profiles for the mentioned monitor, and there is an option for a recalibration reminder. I chose never, and planned on re calibrating it every month or two, but it appeared earlier. Maybe a bug, not sure except it is annoying. I though maybe someone faced the same problem. mirekti Posted October 10, 2014 Author Share #5 Posted October 10, 2014 One other thing. Does anyone know the difference between i1Profiler software calibration and Dell Color calibration tool? They both use i1 Display Pro device. Is the following assumption correct? 1. X-Rite creates an icc profile that sets all the parameters (brightness, contrast gama, color) correction in that file. So for example I set the monitor profile to CAL1, use default brightness values for contrast to 50%, and the adjustment is done by software. 2. Dell Color calibration makes most of the changes in hardware, and some in the profile. Is the Dell Color calibration a better option?
