Advertisement Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 Hi Winedemonium, Take a look here Anyone use the 28mm summicron on your MM?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
A miller Posted May 22, 2014 Author Share #42 Posted May 22, 2014 Many thanks, Nick and Heldged, for chiming in. And, Heldge, your shot it like from another planet compared to where I am from; it's very very cool and beautiful. One question for you: what do you use your 35mm for ad how often do you find yourself using it? Just curious...

One question for you: what do you use your 35mm for ad how often do you find yourself using it? Just curious... I have - or have had - most incarnations of the newer 35 mm lenses, including the 35 Lux, without love so far. I know that lots of people admire the 35 Lux, but I find the bokeh too busy and somewhat distracting (here and here). I therefore end up with 21-28-50 as my standard kit (where 21=21SEM and 28=28Cron), plus the small 90 f4 macro if I deem a longer focal length to be useful. A miller Posted May 23, 2014 Author Share #46 Posted May 23, 2014 quick update from my end... rec'd my used E+ 28 from from Adorama today and have been testing it out. 3 problems: -front lens barrel element b/n the aperture ring and the end of the lens is LOOSE -Focusing is off by a meaningful margin (my MM just came back from a rangefinder replacement, and cross checked it with other lenses) -The focus ring seems a little sticky. So my E+ seems to have been inflated by a few notches. Will see if Adorama will pay for a Leica CLA and a small additional discount (like w/ the 75 lux I just bought from them). Otherwise, I may just continue to enjoy my 28 summaron, which is really nice on the MM...

A miller Posted May 25, 2014 Author Share #48 Posted May 25, 2014 E+ is a condition grading assigned by Adorama's crack used gear department. It is supposed to mean "Barrel may have slight wear but only visible under close inspection. Lens glass is flawless.*". This is the level just before "D", which is "little or no signs of wear." I assume that your 28 cron is not loose in the front? How is the focus ring? Is it silky smooth or a little sticky? The one I got is a little sticky and then at the closest range loosens up once you get past 1m.
