dant Posted May 1, 2014 Share #1 Posted May 1, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) I read the threads on how the MM may have shutter count issue with 16 GB cards. The shutter counts jumps to 999999 sometimes. Is it agreed there is no shutter count issue with MM if you use 8GB cards? Or is the problem still present with 8GB? If you had a file number problem where it jumps to 999999 you can just reset the file numbering in the menu. I've not read of it happening with the MM but it isn't anything to do with shutter count or size of the card. There do appear to be two separate problems that people have that are being conflated, the first is when the numbering jumps and the camera says 'Card Full', and a file reset is needed. The second is when the camera says 'Card Full' and simply switching it off and on again clears it. I think this last problem is more to do with perhaps pressing buttons before the camera has fully woken up. Steve
Berth Posted May 3, 2014 Share #6 Posted May 3, 2014 Only ever used Transcend 16GB cards in mine since August 2012, no issue. john I just switched to a Lexar 32GB, the biggest card I've ever used. jaapv Posted May 4, 2014 Share #8 Posted May 4, 2014 I read the threads on how the MM may have shutter count issue with 16 GB cards. The shutter counts jumps to 999999 sometimes. Is it agreed there is no shutter count issue with MM if you use 8GB cards? Or is the problem still present with 8GB? Where did you read that? Please provide a link. You probably have misread. Sometimes a card with a high image number is inserted and the MM, like all digital Ms, will carry on counting from there. Simply reset the numbering and the alleged “issue” is solved. A non-problem.
