microview Posted April 26, 2014 Share #4  Posted April 26, 2014 DNG files with T lenses here:Features - More hands-on Leica T impressions plus camera JPEG and DNG RAW samples - Digital Photography Now  Some of these come up well in Iridient Developer and undoubtedly the 23mm lens is excellent. Yet isn't there a prevailing flatness to the T images, as compared to the M's sensor?

lct Posted April 27, 2014 Author Share #6 Â Posted April 27, 2014 ...Yet isn't there a prevailing flatness to the T images, as compared to the M's sensor? The T needs a bit more sharpening perhaps but it's not a big deal at first glance.
!Nomad64 Posted April 29, 2014 Share #7 Â Posted April 29, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) I can see that there's a certain tendency to CA and that sharpening must be very carefully dosed as it easily turns finer details into jagginess. Â Also comparing various DNG files I had the impression that native lenses render a little (very little) bit better than M primes. Â Finally, comparing the T files with the outputs of my M8 I found that these latter are slightly cleaner when it comes to finest details. Which is no wonder - at least to me - as compared to the M8 the T sensor crams quite double the resolution (16 vs 10MP) in slightly less than the same sensor area. So less resolution but cleaner fine details for the M8. It's also opportune to remind that the M8 had the same pixel density of the M9. When I switched I considered the M9 as an M8 with more sensor around the original one. However mine are impressions I got down at pixel peeping level. At printing or web sharing level there shouldn't be any appreciable difference. Â Cheers, Bruno

Could be worst. 100% crop from a David's DNG file above. This little cam does not behave like a sans AA filter one i feel. Reminds me of the R-D1 as compared to the M8. Comparisons by Sean Reid with the Ricoh M mount are not quite flattering though. Welcome, dear visitor!
