Gosh! I'll have a new firmware to play with during my coming holiday, next month?

You must be kidding me! [emoji3]

If you have a once-in-a-lifetime event upcoming better let the first-adopters try it out before updating your camera.

A Fujifilm firmware update for one of the X-series cameras had, apparently, been extensively beta tested but when released knackered a significant number of cameras. Annoyingly it wasn't possible for them to revert to the earlier firmware. It took a few weeks for a revised update to be released to fix the snafu.

I'm not too worried about that. Will happily be an early adopter so you can see how it works for me, or not...

My main cameras are the MP and M6, not the M240. ;)

Jolly good then. :)

There have been plenty of early adopters using it for weeks now in the form of our betatesters. I find it pretty good.

Not as many testers as Fuji's team I'd wager...They found theirs pretty good too. It can be luck of the draw, my Fuji camera was fine, many others weren't.

Today is the 28th day of the 5th month on the Chinese calendar so by that count they're just a little bit late :D

I prefer not to be a nagger and I definitely want Leica to get it right (take as long as they need). But that doesn't mean I'm not checking here 4 times a day just in case it has been released. It's especially hard since there have been insinuations from the beginning of "surprises". It just sounds so magical and enticing.

It doesn't surprise me a bit that the FW hasn't even been released, yet we are already reading internet reports of concerns here. :p

If you are referring to my original post I mentioned firmware in general and the risk of updating a camera just before a 'mission critical' event. I also gave an example of one Fuji FW update and the problems that occurred even after substantial beta testing. That sort of thing may or may not happen in this case, I hope that it will not, but it was not a whinge, moan or criticism of Leica merely an observation.

You need to check 4 times a day because as of this firmware, your camera is completely useless? ;)

Oh not at all!, I've actually been pretty lucky in the problem department. I just like new and shiny things :p
