furcafe Posted April 22, 2014 Share #3 Posted April 22, 2014 Interesting roundup of accessories. I am surprised to hear that you've had so many split-rings work their way out of camera strap lugs. 1st time I've heard of anyone suffering from that problem (but perhaps that is why triangular "rings" were invented). Overgaard Posted April 22, 2014 Author Share #4 Posted April 22, 2014 Yes, furcafe I have heard of more with ring problems than with the actual strap lug that required a call-back.
ynp Posted April 22, 2014 Share #5 Posted April 22, 2014 Great collection of very sexy and useful things. Thank you for sharing your wonderful work and Leica information. My girls have monopolized the article and google the web for some sexy unusual bags they would be adapting with the inserts for their Leicas. And next week my modest Fogg will be used amongst a motley crew of my girls' camera bags on the family outing. dante Posted April 23, 2014 Share #7 Posted April 23, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Nice writeup. I like the discussion of strap options. I haven't had a mishap with the original, but I'm sure my day will come. On page 37, is the multifunctional grip really that bad? On a more humorous note, a female member of my household saw the page with the Goyard bag, expressed interest in owning one, read what was being put into it, and commented that a Marc Jacobs jumper [v-neck sweater] seemed kind of downscale in comparison to a Leica. swamiji Posted April 23, 2014 Share #8 Posted April 23, 2014 As per your norm, an excellent page! Just to let you know, DAG also carries the black dot for $44 us. I am looking at getting the triangle strap rings for my Annie Barton... That is a concern. My theory is the weight of the M240 opens the rings enough for it to catch on the newly designed lug, and with normal rotation comes undone.
Guest alex00 Posted April 23, 2014 Share #9 Posted April 23, 2014 Great report, but nobody needs really a MAC for editing images. You can use a PC or a Linux system (as me). The colors on the screen have nothing to do wtith the Mac but with a calibration of the screen (a EIZO is much better than every Mac-screen!). jaapv Posted April 23, 2014 Share #10 Posted April 23, 2014 Actually, respected Photoshop writers claim that Apple screens are at the bottom of the heap for photo editing. Having said that, I find Photoshop easiest in use on a MAC. I would not be without my MacPro and Eizo screens.
swamiji Posted April 23, 2014 Share #11 Posted April 23, 2014 I don't have any problems with the MF Handgrip and my PocketWizards. I use the usual X sync cable I use on my Hasselblad lenses. However the GPS is another issue. I am a teacher in china, and have checked with my students (who are GIS Majors), and there is no legal reasons for the restriction. I have checked with a local lawyer, and the outcome, was that except for certain military installations, it's totally legal. Which is also true in the US. So why the restriction... who knows... I got the MF Handgrip for the flash, a bit overpriced for this purpose, but thats the way it goes. But, Hey, it's Leica I expect it to be overpriced...
