Annibale G. Posted April 26, 2007 Share #1 Posted April 26, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I like taking picture in bad weather too. Does anyone do that ? How do you protect your M camera?
Advertisement Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 Hi Annibale G., Take a look here Taking picture in the rain. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
stunsworth Posted April 26, 2007 Share #2 Posted April 26, 2007 If it's raining or snowing heavily I leave the camera in the bag and take it out to take a shot. For drizzle and light rain I wear the camera around my neck as normal.
Overgaard Posted April 26, 2007 Share #3 Posted April 26, 2007 I had a Panasonic digital (the sensor) dying of heavy rain. Or actually not the raint itself, but the humidity of drying up in the days after, combined with that the battery was in. It didn't die before two days after the actual rain. My M4 I can almost swim with. My R cameras I use in rain without many considerations.

richam Posted April 26, 2007 Share #5 Posted April 26, 2007 My solution is to wear a jacket one size too large, zip it up about halfway, and tuck the M inside until I'm actually shooting.
earleygallery Posted April 26, 2007 Share #6 Posted April 26, 2007 Use an umbrella?
stunsworth Posted April 26, 2007 Share #7 Posted April 26, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Years and years ago there was a company that made a small umbrella that sloted into the hotshoe. Looked a bit daft, but it could catch on again.

kodaktrix Posted April 27, 2007 Share #9 Posted April 27, 2007 I use a waxed Barbour jacket to store small gear, a waxed Barbour shoulder pocket for a larger equipment. In very heavy tropical rain I found a small folding umbrella very usefull (folded a little larger than a pack of cigarettes). I took the photograph below kneeling on the road under that umbrella, i was soaked, but the camera was dry. Regards Oliver Welcome, dear visitor! R.Morrison Posted April 28, 2007 Share #14 Posted April 28, 2007 I have used all of the above methods and to greater and lesser degrees they all work. As for swimming with one's M4, I believe it as I've more than once dropped my M4-P in the snow and had to dig to find it; didn't clean it off thoroughly once and got a great soft-focus shot because of it. Oliver, that's a fantastic shot! Yours, Robert Morrison, M4-P, etc.
